2. Work, Work, Work
Some people put in more effort than others.
That is a decision, not a natural ability. Or a competency.
According to what Mark Cuban has said regarding the matter,”It’s not about money or connections. It’s the willingness to outwork and outlearn everyone.”
You have the ability to make that decision starting right now.
3. Uniqueness
That requires Parrish to shift his perspective. Attempting a new approach. I’ve been doing some reading. Making new sense out of old data.
To paraphrase what Steve Jobs once remarked about innovators:
One of the funny things about being bright is everyone puts you on this path. To go to high school, go to college… (but) the key thing that comes through is they had a variety of experiences which they could draw upon in order to try to solve a problem, or attack a particular dilemma, in a unique way.
What you have to do is get different experiences. To make connections which are innovative, to connect two experiences together, you have to not have the same bag of experiences as everyone else… or you’ll make the same connections.
Not only should you be willing to try new things, but you should also actively seek them out. Explore different options. Gain knowledge about topics that, at first glance, seem to have nothing to do with the course you’re following. Engage in activities that are outside of your comfort zone; this is a clear sign that the experience, as well as what you may subsequently extract from the experience, and what you may be able to connect it to, will be singular to you.
That is something that will set you apart from everyone else.
4. Method and discipline
The majority of people find success by concentrating their efforts not on an ultimate objective, but rather on the day-to-day activities that are necessary to realize that objective.
One of the most common reasons people give up on their ambitions is that they feel there is too much distance between where they are now and where they aim to be in the future. If you are only able to run one mile right now, but your long-term objective is to complete a marathon, the gap between where you are now and where you want to be feels enormous.

Mark Cuban recommends that if you want to be successful, you should surround yourself with people that are daring and do not follow roads that have already been established. According to Jeff Bezos, the threshold that you set for hiring should gradually raise, to the point where, in a few years, people should be saying things like, “The standards are so high now — I’m glad I got in when I did!”
If you assemble a group of outstanding salesmen, you can pretty much just walk away from them and let them do their job. When you have a group of outstanding engineers working for you, you can pretty much just step back and let them handle things.
If you ask most leaders to describe their employment, they will tell you that their primary responsibility is to lead the people they are in charge of. And you absolutely should, but you also ought to become a talent collector by locating the individuals who contribute to your company’s achievement of ever-increasing degrees of success.
Because this is the core responsibility of a leader in every organization.
6. Be Patient
According to what Parrish has to say, an absence of patience can alter the result.
Exercise your leadership. If you want to develop a sense of urgency in people, the greatest approach to persuade them to move quickly is to let them know why they need to move quickly… and then be encouraging and patient with their progress. This is the best method to instill a sense of urgency.
Being patient with other people is a sign that you care about them. Having patience is a sign of self-assurance and trustworthiness.

Always remember that putting in a lot of effort, following a process, and maintaining your discipline will pay off, particularly if you have patience.
7. Pain tolerance

That’s a useful metric for any important life decision.
Finding something that is more important to you than the feelings of stress, anxiety, or failure is necessary for coping with these experiences.
Do you want to launch a new company? Find a justification that is more important to you than measurements or financial gain. For example, working toward a brighter future for your family. Or the desire to make a significant contribution. Or the pursuit of a life that is more gratifying and satisfying.
When you understand something on a deeper level, you’ll have a better ability to cope with the suffering it causes.
8. The temperament
When everyone else around you is losing their composure, Parrish defines it as the capacity to keep your head.
Herb Kelleher, the founder of Southwest Airlines, was known for his adoption of the “one-question rule.” His query was always, “Will this help Southwest Airlines be the lowest-cost provider?” By applying that perspective to the consideration of ideas, concerns, and challenges, decisions became considerably less complicated.
Principles are important to Ray Dalio. In the words of Dalio:
Principles are fundamental truths that serve as the foundations for behavior that gets you what you want out of life.
They can be applied again and again in similar situations to help you achieve your goals.

One more is that when it comes to partnerships, compassion and kindness are more important than the exchange of monetary value.
